Good morning!

I’ve always wanted to learn how to surf. Always.

And I thought these gorgeous surfing photographs by photographer Chris Burkard for Surfer Magazine would be an insipiring way to start a mid-week morning.

Hey, did you know that the word “weekend” is not only a noun, but a verb too? …and an adjective?

Yes, I’m a word nerd…

Weekending” is the present participle of “weekend” and according to Merriam-Webster, weekending means: to spend weekends or a weekend, as at a place

I’m sure you already knew that!

Well, this is what my weekending will look like:

  1. Going to a clothing swap (I had a fantastic time a the last one)
  2. Spending time at my momma’s house planning our seven-day cruise (woo!)
  3. Spending time at Chapters-Indigo bookstore
  4. Writing
  5. Church Sunday morning (I love my church family)
  6. Going to a music rehearsal
  7. Celebrating a birthday
  8. Smiling

Happy Weekending!

What are you doing this weekend?

These days, I’ve got a thing for sparkly metallics… I’m not sure why, but I do.

When I came across these sequins and sparklies I thought about a creative marketing project I worked on a few years back.

I had to write a few short poetic pieces based on the word “SHE” for a women’s group.  The first poem that I wrote from the collection was about women getting dolled-up for a night out, having fun and celebrating life.

I’m always up for a fun part-ay and a cute dress.

It’s the girly-girl in me!

 SHE CELEBRATES
On goes the pretty frock,
and the hot shoes to match,
A little bling on the ears,
the wrist,
around her neck;
All that glitters and is gold.

Sweet and Sassy,
Cute and Chic,
She’s ready
For a night out with her Sisters,
To laugh, smile, rejoice;
To share in the good times,
SHE celebrates…

Winter, where are you?

Snow, why are you hiding… Are you being elusive on purpose? Hmmm…

I do enjoy when things are out of the ordinary, especially the weather.  We’re in the dead of winter and for some reason the usual sub-zero temperature is holding out on us here in the Great White North.

January feels like March… which is kind of nice… Although I would like to see some white stuff on the ground.

Don’t be a complete stranger, Winter… that would be just plain rude… I’m just sayin’.  But for now, do what you have to do and hopefully we’ll see you in a week or so.
